Ederson unbelievably registered four assists in 26 appearances for Manchester City in the 2024/25 Premier League season. The previous record for assists in a campaign by a goalkeeper in one of Europe’s top-five leagues was two. Overall, Ederson has made seven assists in the English top flight. Paul Robinson, with five, has the second most.
The Brazilian’s ball-playing ability is legendary. He has taken two penalties for City – against Real Madrid C.F. in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals and Manchester United in the FA Community Shield – and scored them both.
Ederson also entered the Guinness World Records for the longest drop-kick of a football in 2018. He was given three attempts to beat the previous best of 75.00 metres. He failed his first two by some distance. Then, with Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker cheering him on, he registered 75.35 metres with his final effort.
