Joao Cancelo has represented six teams at this FIFA Club World Cup – more than any other player at the tournament. The Al Hilal wing-back previously ran out for SL Benfica, FC Internazionale Milano, Juventus FC, Manchester City and FC Bayern München.
CR Flamengo right-back Danilo, formerly of FC Porto, Real Madrid C.F., City and Juventus, is next on five. Achraf Hakimi, despite being only 26, is third having appeared for four: Real, Borussia Dortmund, Internazionale and Paris Saint-Germain.
Mateo Kovacic has also represented four – Internazionale, Real, Chelsea FC and City – but has been ruled out of the global finals through injury. Fluminense FC centre-back Thiago Silva was signed by Porto as a 19-year-old in 2004, but only played for their B team. He went on to compete for PSG and Chelsea.
