Ruben Moran played only 90 minutes in the World Cup, and the occasion couldn’t have been bigger. In his only appearance in the competition, the 19-year-old performed admirably as Uruguay stunned Brazil at the Maracana to lift the trophy in 1950.
Moran duly became the first teenager to win the World Cup, with Mazzola, Pele, Coutinho, Marco Antonio, Giuseppe Bergomi, Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe also going on to conquer before turning 20.
Moran never made another start for Uruguay, but remains one of two men to have made their only World Cup appearance in a title-winning game for a triumphant team. Marcelo Trobbiani played just 86 seconds in injury time as Argentina held on to beat West Germany 3-2 in the Mexico 1986 final.
