Di Maria on top as Kane stakes his claim

Angel Di Maria continues to lead in the race to be named Top Goal Scorer presented by Bank of America at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™.

The former Argentina international took the outright lead over the chasing pack on Saturday, 28 June with his fourth penalty of the tournament, but will not be able to top up his tally as Benfica went on to suffer a 4-1 defeat to Chelsea.

A formidable new contender emerged on Sunday, 29 June, meanwhile, with Harry Kane moving up to third position overall with a well-taken double in Bayern München’s 4-2 win over Flamengo.

The English striker, who topped the scoring chart at the 2018 FIFA World Cup™, joins Kenan Yildiz, Wessam Abou Ali, Pedro Neto and team-mates Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala on three goals for the tournament.

Top Goal Scorer criteria

The Top Goal Scorer Presented by Bank of America will be awarded to the player who scores the most goals in the final competition. If two or more players score the same number of goals, the number of assists (as determined by the members of the FIFA Technical Study Group) shall be decisive.

If two or more players are still equal after taking into account the number of assists, the total minutes played in the tournament will be taken into account, with the player playing fewer minutes ranked first.
