Korea Republic v Côte d’Ivoire

Group E

14:00 in Rabat
22:00 in Seoul
13:00 in Yamoussoukro

Korea Republic won the second edition of the tournament in Trinidad and Tobago in 2010 and have featured in the global finals on four other occasions. Since becoming world champions, they exited after the group stage twice. Côte d’Ivoire are one of the four World Cup debutants here in Morocco and are the ninth different African team to qualify for the competition.

Japan v New Zealand

Group F

14:00 in Rabat
22:00 in Tokyo
02:00 in Wellington (on 20 October)

Japan and New Zealand are the only two nations to have featured at every edition of the U-17 Women’s World Cup. Japan won at Costa Rica 2014 and reached the final on two other occasions, while New Zealand finished in third place in 2018, which is the best showing recorded by any of the nation’s sides – men’s or women’s – in a FIFA global showpiece. On 125 goals, Japan are also the record scorers of this tournament.

France v Samoa

Group D

17:00 in Rabat
18:00 in Paris
05:00 in Apia (on 20 October)

France became the first European team to win the U-17 Women’s World Cup when they triumphed in a penalty shootout against Korea DPR at Azerbaijan 2012 and are at this tournament for the fourth time after reaching the semi-final of the UEFA European Women’s Under-17 Championship. Samoa are the first team of their country to feature at a FIFA tournament, having qualified as the finalists of the 2024 OFC U-16 Women’s Championship.

Nigeria v Canada

Group D

20:00 in Rabat
20:00 in Lagos
15:00 in Ottawa

After not qualifying for this tournament for the first time last year, Canada are making their return to the U-17 Women’s World Cup stage. For their eighth appearance, they face a real challenge against an ever-ambitious Nigeria. The African team with the most appearances in the tournament have often performed well and have only been eliminated in the group stage once. Last year they reached the quarter-finals, where they lost 2-0 to USA.

Spain v Colombia

Group E

20:00 in Rabat
21:00 in Madrid
14:00 in Bogota

Last year, Spain missed the opportunity to become the first team in history to win three consecutive World Cups. The winners of the 2018 and 2022 editions fell just short in the final against Korea DPR. Nevertheless, La Rojita arrive in Morocco on the back of three consecutive finals in the tournament. Against Colombia, Spain will face a rematch of the India 2022 final. The two teams also met in last year’s group stage where Spain again prevailed. Apart from the year they made the final, Colombia were eliminated after the group stage in every appearance thus far.

Zambia v Paraguay

Group F

20:00 in Rabat
21:00 in Lusaka
16:00 in Asuncion

For their fourth appearance in the tournament, Paraguay arrive in their new role as South American champions. After shining at the CONMEBOL Sub 17 Femenina 2025, where they beat Brazil in the final, they will be keen to maintain their momentum in Morocco and finally make it through the group stage. Zambia are at the U-17 Women’s World Cup for the third time and also aim to reach the knockout stages for the first time. Unlike Paraguay, who have eight defeats and one draw to their name at this tournament, the Copper Princesses have already won a match at the U-17 Women’s World Cup: against Costa Rica in 2014.
