Korea DPR set a new record for goals scored in a single U-17 Women’s World Cup with 25. They averaged 3.57 goals per game during the finals – only Japan’s total of 3.83 in 2014 betters that among victorious sides.

France’s quarter-final bout with the Netherlands broke all manner of records. The French went 2-0 up in the 93rd minute, before two even later Dutch strikes ensured it became the first knockout match to feature three goals in second-half stoppage time. The Netherlands won the eventual penalty shootout 7-6 following five misses between the pair, with 18 total spot-kicks also a new record.

Korea DPR were fired to the title by Ru Jong-hyang, who netted a joint-record eight goals to take home both the adidas Golden Boot and Golden Ball. Korea Republic’s Yeo Minji in 2012 is the only other player to have scooped both personal accolades.

Canada thrashed Zambia 6-0 in the last 16 to record the largest knockout-stage win in tournament history. Korea DPR also notched a half-dozen in that round in a 6-1 thumping of Morocco.

By reaching the decider against the Netherlands, Korea DPR became the first side to play in five U-17 Women’s World Cup finals, having contested the match in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2024. Across all female events, only the senior USA side can match their total showpiece appearances.
