They are thrill machines. They are goal goddesses. Emilly Marcondes and Renata Adamatti are spectators’ dreams; they are opponents’ worst nightmares.
Fans at PhilSports Arena, or watching from around the world for free on FIFA+, will get to witness the pair’s otherworldly genius on Wednesday. One will be caped in canary yellow; the other in savoy blue.
Emilly scored two and set another up as Brazil beat IR Iran 4-1 in their FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025™ opener. Renata remarkably registered five goal involvements as Italy overwhelmed Panama 17-0.
Ahead of the most mouth-watering match of the group stage – and, curiously, the first-ever meeting between the nations in women’s futsal – FIFA asked Emilly and Renata what they think of one another as players.
“She’s fantastic. I have the utmost respect for her. She’s so good with her left foot. She’s a rapid dribbler. She makes it look easy. She can win a game in an instant. Let’s hope she doesn’t do that against Brazil (laughs).”
“She’s a girl from another planet. She plays with both feet, which makes her difficult for us to defend against. She can decide a match at any moment. She’s very intelligent. We’ll have to be careful because she’s simply too good.”
