Spain struck thrice late to sink Argentina and finish third at the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup Philippines 2025™. Ale De Paz slammed home a free-kick and, with Laura Cordoba excelling, Claudia Pons’ side would have scored several more had it not been for the remarkable reflexes of Trinidad D’ Andrea. Argentina struggled to create until Mailen Romero began acting as a fly goalkeeper, and the 28-year-old duly squeezed home the equaliser. When they lost possession in the Spain half, however, Laura Cordoba punished them by rolling the ball into the unguarded net. Antia Perez and Irene Cordoba then got on the score-sheet, before Laura sealed a deserved victory for the Europeans.
