Brazil’s thrilling FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup™ triumph has strengthened their status as the planet’s number-one side. The exploits of Amandinha, Ana Luiza, Debora Vanin and Emilly, indeed, helped Wilson Saboia’s Seleção extend their lead over second-placed Spain on the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Ranking.
Ana Catarina Pereira, Fifo, Lidia Moreira, Janice Silva and Portugal scored 37 goals and conceded only four to reach the final, which saw them close the gap on their Iberian neighbours. Argentina and Italy, who both thrived in Manila, rose two places apiece to fourth and fifth. Colombia also inched up a slot to seventh.
The biggest beneficiaries of Philippines 2025 were the Africans. Morocco stunned Poland to reach the knockout phase, and leapt seven spots to 24th on the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Ranking. Tanzania, for their part, upset New Zealand and climbed eight positions to 74th.
That made the Twiga Stars the biggest ascenders on the latest edition alongside Czechia, who are fresh from back-to-back away wins over Slovenia. Guatemala (up 5 to 34th), Iraq (up 3 to 49th) and Norway (up 5 to 50th) also made impressive moves.
