The winger, who joined the Gunners from Manchester City last year, has 1.5 million followers on the platform. Her team-mates Alessia Russo and Leah Williamson also have seven-figure followings.

Last July, Olivia Smith became female football’s first £1m (GBP) player. The Canada international joined Arsenal from Liverpool following a strong debut season in the Women’s Super League (WSL), where she scored nine goals in 25 appearances. The 21-year-old has recorded three goals and one assist from 11 league matches so far this term.

ASFAR have the highest percentage of players hailing from a single nation. A mammoth 23 of their 26-player squad come from Morocco, accounting for 88.46 per cent. All of their players are African, with Congo DR pair Paulmiche Michou and Flore Ngoma and Benin’s Yolande Gnammi making up the rest.

At 40, Corinthians captain Gabi Zanotti is the tournament’s oldest player. The midfielder has chalked up more than 250 matches for the Timão, winning 18 titles in that time. She is followed by ASFAR’s 39-year-old icon Aziza Rabbah.

In total, 21 different nations are represented across the four squads. Brazil top the pile with 24 players, with Morocco just behind on 23, and USA further back on 20. Benin, Canada, Denmark, Ghana, Israel, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Uruguay and Venezuela all have one player each.

Gotham forward Mak Whitham, at 15, is the tournament’s youngest player. In March 2025, she became the youngest player to appear in a regular-season NWSL match when she came off the bench in a 1-1 draw with Seattle Reign, aged 14 years and 232 days. She is followed by 16-year-old ASFAR pair Fatiha Naam and Hiba Youssoufi.

The squads feature nine players who have scored at the FIFA Women’s World Cup™. Arsenal stars Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord have done so for Australia, Chloe Kelly and Alessia Russo for England, Stina Blackstenius for Sweden, Mariona Caldentey for Spain and Katie McCabe for the Republic of Ireland. Indeed, McCabe netted Ireland’s first-ever finals goal when she scored direct from a corner at Australia & New Zealand 2023. ASFAR’s Anissa Lahmari netted a historic strike against Colombia at the 2023 event to see Morocco through to the last 16. Gotham’s Rose Lavelle is the only player to have netted in a World Cup final, having done so in USA’s 2-0 win over the Netherlands at France 2019.

Some six players have been included in the FIFA Best Women’s World 11/FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11. Mariona Caldentey was selected in the 2025 side alongside Arsenal team-mates Alessia Russo and Leah Williamson, who also featured in the 2023 and 2022 editions respectively. Gotham’s Gabi Portilho was selected in the 2024 XI while playing for Corinthians. Beth Mead, another Arsenal star, was selected in 2022. Rose Lavelle, meanwhile, was included in the inaugural FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11 in 2019.

There are four Women’s World Cup winners and Olympic gold medalists among the squads. Mariona Caldentey and Laia Codina helped La Roja to victory at Australia & New Zealand 2023. Four years earlier, Rose Lavelle and Emily Sonnett starred as USA won the title. That pair, alongside fellow Gotham star Jaedyn Shaw and Arsenal’s Emily Fox, went on to help the States reclaim Olympic gold after a 12-year drought at Paris 2024.

Two players will celebrate their birthday during the tournament. Corinthians’ Belen Aquino and ASFAR’s Siham Boukhami will turn 24 and 34 respectively on 1 February, the day of the final.

Six players share the distinction of being the tallest at the tournament. Goalkeepers Ann-Katrin Berger, Anneke Borbe, Ryan Campbell and Shelby Hogan are all 1.80m tall. Gotham forward Jordynn Dudley and Corinthians defender Thais are the joint-tallest outfielders.

Leticia Monteiro is, at 1.54m, the tournament’s shortest player. The Corinthians midfielder is followed by Gotham’s Kayla Duran (1.55m), and ASFAR spellcaster Sanaa Mssoudy (1.56m).
