Spain have become the first European team to book their ticket to the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026™.
They finished top of their qualifying group for this year’s UEFA European Under-17 Championship and subsequently banked a place at the global finals.
Spain, who missed out on last year’s U-17 World Cup, qualified after drawing 0-0 with Türkiye in their final group match, following previous victories against Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Scotland retain a chance of qualifying for the finals as one of the four best runners-up. A total of 11 European nations will play at the 48-team U-17 World Cup, with the seven group winners in the UEFA qualifiers joined by the four best second-placed teams.
The remaining UEFA qualifiers will take place from 25-31 March.
