Jamaica interim coach Rudolph Speid has named his 27-player roster for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Play-Off Tournament, which includes European-based stars Leon Bailey and Renaldo Cephas, however, qualifying standouts Warner Brown and Shamar Nicholson have missed out.
Nicholson led the team in scoring during Concacaf qualifying with five goals, but will not be traveling to Mexico, nor will Brown, a domestic-based player who emerged during the preliminaries and has four goals in ten Jamaica appearances.
Both Bailey and Cephas were among Jamaica’s top performers in qualifying and will no doubt be called upon to provide the same creativity and playmaking against semi-final opponent New Caledonia. Other notables who will be traveling for the play-off are veteran goalkeeper Andre Blake, midfield threat Bobby Reid and forward Demarai Gray
Jamaica face the OFC side on 26 March at Guadalajara Stadium, and with a win would advance to the decider on 31 March against Congo DR.
Victory in both contests would send Jamaica into Group K alongside Colombia, Portugal and Uzbekistan. The Reggae Boyz are targeting a first World Cup appearance since France 1998.
