Chile and Venezuela have become the latest sides to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026™ following victories in the continental play-offs.
Venezuela secured their spot at a first finals in ten years with a 1-0 victory over Colombia. Andrea Suarez netted the only goal of the contest in the 25th minute, powering home a bouncing ball from close range.
Chile then left it late against Ecuador to secure their spot at just a third tournament and their first since 2022. Antonella Martinez rifled La Roja ahead in just the 9th minute, and while Ariana Cerda bundled home an equaliser, Catalina Munoz was on hand to slide in a dramatic winner.
Brazil and Argentina, who both secured qualification earlier in the week, contested the South American U-17 Women’s Football Championship final. The Seleção ran out 3-2 winners thanks to Nicolly Silva’s late first-half effort.
This year’s finals will be held in Morocco and the second edition to host 24 nations. The tournament will run from 17 October to 7 November.
