Côte d’Ivoire use heads to seal title

Côte d’Ivoire edged past ten-player Pakistan to secure the Women’s FIFA Series 2026™ title in Abidjan with three wins out of three. Mauritania, meanwhile, finished second with a comprehensive victory over Turks and Caicos Islands.

Mauritania goals: Tacko Diabira (17, 33 pen, 68), Leila Blal (26, 58), El Ghaiba Fall (74)

Tacko Diabira netted a terrific treble as Mauritania finished the tournament in style with a second successive victory.

Diabira opened the scoring after breaking clear of the Turks and Caicos defence and slotting home. She secured her brace from the penalty spot before finding the target once again after the break with a fine finish. Leila Blal also played a key role with goals in either half, with substitute El Ghaiba Fall sealing the three points late on with an exquisite effort.

Côte d’Ivoire goals: Ami Diallo (40), Habibou Ouedraogo (69)

After resounding triumphs over Mauritania and Turks and Caicos Islands, Côte d’Ivoire were made to work hard for victory over ten-player Pakistan to secure the Series title. Both goals came from headers following Bernadette Amani corners.

The first arrived shortly before half-time when Ami Diallo found the target at the second time of asking. It was her fifth goal of the tournament after scoring four against Turks and Caicos. There was then a sense of déjà vu when Habibou Ouedraogo rose to head in a corner from Amani after the break.

Pakistan’s evening took a turn for the worse when they were reduced to ten players after Anmool Hira was shown a straight red card for handling the ball on the line. Ivorian substitute Priscille Kreto had the subsequent penalty saved, however.
