Darika Peanpailun hit a hat-trick as Thailand overcame Canada in an exciting FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup™ contest. The 33-year-old pivot fired Thanatorn Santanaprasit’s side into a two-goal lead, only for Joelle Gosselin to pull one back and Jade Houmphanh to force an own-goal equaliser. Sangrawee Meekham restored the Thais’ advantage, but Maude Lagace levelled for the Canadians once again. Thereafter, the Asians took control and Jenjira Bubpha’s stunning volley helped them sail to victory.
Thailand will now confront Colombia if a high-stakes contest on Friday, while Canada play Spain.
