The Ana Luiza-Emilly telepathy struck again, the latter playing a one-two with the former and finishing venomously to smash the deadlock. Amandinha’s seldom genius laid on the second for Ana Luiza, Emilly thundered home another, and Debora Vanin and Luana got in on the act before the break. Japan gave an admirable account of themselves in the second half, in which they utilised the fly goalkeeper often and pulled one back, but Emilly’s dink sealed Brazil’s victory.
