The start of the first-ever World Cup in Morocco takes place at the Olympic Stadium Annex Sports Complex Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat on Friday. Anwar Mghinia’s players are looking for a strong performance against Brazil, who will aim to make up for their exit after the group stage at Dominican Republic 2024.
“It’s not every day that you get to play in a World Cup, especially when it’s in your own country. So we’re going to try to give it our all so that we have no regrets at the end. We know that Brazil is a great footballing nation, but we’ve prepared for this match and we’re still preparing. We know their playing system and we train every day to try to counter it. With a little work, we’ll get there.”
Maissane Ferkous, Morocco defender
“Let’s hope we play an excellent match and come away with the victory. We’re going to stay focused on our work and on what the coach asks of us. God willing, we’ll get this victory.”
Evelin, Brazil striker
