Japan unravelled Tanzania to finish second in the section and secure a FIFA Women’s World Cup™ quarter-final against title favourites Brazil. Ryo Egawa got the ball rolling with a tremendous drive, and the Best Women’s Player 2024 nominee was on target again as Takehiro Suga’s side ran riot. Yuka Iwasaki also bagged a brace for the Nadeshiko Five.
Tanzania were outclassed today, but go home having exceeded expectations in registering a victory in the tournament.
