Ghana have announced their 28-man preliminary squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, where they will face Croatia, England and Panama in Group L.
Carlos Queiroz, who is gearing up to take part in a fifth global finals, has named five goalkeepers in his selection, with that number set to be trimmed down to three before the tournament.
The headline absentee from the squad is Tottenham Hotspur star Mohammed Kudus. The winger suffered a quad injury in January which was set to keep him out until April, but he suffered a setback during his recovery and will now miss the tournament in Canada, Mexico and the USA.
National team captain Jordan Ayew, Abdul Fatawu, Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Inaki Williams have all been included, while Lyon star Ernest Nuamah has recovered from an ACL rupture in time to be called up. Saint-Etienne midfielder Augustine Boakye is the only uncapped outfielder named in Queiroz’s squad.
