New Caledonia name Play-Off Tournament squad

New Caledonia coach Johann Sidaner has unveiled his squad for the upcoming FIFA Play-Off Tournament™.

Les Cagous will take on Jamaica in the semi-final in at Guadalajara Stadium on 26 March. The winner of that match will take on Congo DR in the final at the same venue with a place at FIFA World Cup 2026™ at stake.

The main talking point from Sidaner’s squad announcement is the selection of Angelo Fulgini. The 29-year-old forward is expected to make his senior international debut against the Reggae Boyz, having previously represented France at youth level. A product of the Valenciennes youth academy, he now plays his club football for Al Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League. He has also enjoyed spells with Angers, Mainz and Lens, and his top-level experience should be a significant asset to the team.

Germain Haewegene and Joseph Athale – who have recently joined Tahiti United in the OFC Pro League – are also expected to play a key role in the Play-Off Tournament, alongside veteran internationals such as captain Cesar Zeoula, Georges Gope-Fenepej and Morgan Mathelon.
