Whether domestically, on the European stage or even global scene, Paris Saint-Germain have enjoyed spectacular success throughout 2025. While no stranger to dominance in France, the club finally held aloft the trophy that it had been pursuing for so many years: the UEFA Champions League.
Relive all the pivotal moments from a year in which the French giants have shone on all fronts like never before.
Trophée des champions 2024
PSG got the year off to a flying start on 5 January 2025 by lifting the 2024 Trophée des Champions against Monaco, the Ligue 1 runners-up in 2023/24.
The first outing of the calendar year saw the Parisians struggle to break down a resolute Monaco rearguard until the irrepressible Ousmane Dembele popped up deep into injury time, having just adjusted to his new No9 role, to notch the only goal of the contest with a penalty shoot-out looming.
The last-gasp victory immediately set the tone for the year ahead, as the French goalscorer highlighted post-match. “Not winning this final would’ve made us think that we’ve made a poor start to January,” explained Dembele.
Coupe de France 2025
Paris Saint-Germain were crowned Coupe de France winners for the 16th time in their illustrious history in 2025 following a testing cup run.
From kicking off their defence of the domestic knockout competition away to Lens to a potential banana skin against second‑division side Dunkerque in the semi-finals, there were more than a few wobbles along the way, but Luis Enrique’s charges always succeeded in pulling through. Les Rouge et Bleu eventually got their hands on the trophy after raising their game to put Reims to the sword in the final with a 3-0 triumph.
Ligue 1 2024/25
Paris Saint-Germain stormed to a 13th top-flight title by amassing 84 points in Ligue 1 thanks to 26 wins, six draws and just two defeats.
Unbeaten for most of the campaign, the Parisians fell agonisingly short of equalling Nantes’ record of 32 consecutive matches without defeat in the French top flight, with their loss at home to Nice on Matchday 31 also putting paid to the dream of becoming the first team to navigate an entire Ligue 1 season undefeated.
UEFA Champions League 2024/25
In 2025, PSG were finally crowned kings of Europe in the Champions League at the end of a topsy-turvy campaign. After picking up just four points from a possible 15 in their first five games in the league phase, a win over Salzburg on Matchday 6 boosted the Parisians’ position ahead of a potentially pivotal showdown at the Parc des Princes with a Manchester City side also in need of points to be sure of a place in the play-offs.
While City raced into a 2-0 lead at the start of the second half, a stunning comeback saw the hosts emerge 4-2 winners, going on to finish 15th after overcoming Stuttgart in the final league phase match to progress.
The Parisian heavyweights went on to make light work of Brest in the play-offs with a crushing 10-0 victory on aggregate, before dispatching the Premier League trio of Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal to set up what proved to be a one-sided 5-0 triumph over Inter in the showpiece final.
It was a historic and deeply emotional achievement that captain Marquinhos will never forget. “It’s a mix of joy and so many emotions. I’ve suffered and grown with this club. I’m thinking of all the players who’ve passed through PSG and didn’t manage to accomplish this. I’m thinking of the fans. It’s absolutely magnificent, especially as it’s taken us 12 years. This is the most beautiful day of my career.”
FIFA Club World Cup 2025
Fresh from clinching their European crown, the Parisians swiftly headed to the United States for the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup™. Drawn in Group B alongside Atletico Madrid, Botafogo and Seattle Sounders, Luis Enrique’s side made a perfect start by thrashing the Spaniards 4-0, before suffering a narrow 1-0 reversal against the Brazilians. They bounced back by beating the Sounders 2-0 to book their place in the knockout phase.
The round of 16 pitted a certain Lionel Messi against his former employers, but the Argentinian was kept quiet as PSG served up a ruthless 4-0 victory to extinguish Inter Miami’s hopes of international silverware. Bayern Munich were next to fall in the quarter-finals by a 2-0 scoreline, before the Parisians faced another familiar figure in Kylian Mbappé, with Real Madrid sent packing in the final four, after shipping four goals without reply.
Against the odds, an unrecognisable PSG were beaten 3-0 by a surprising, energetic and clinical Chelsea side in the final. The frustrating defeat remained the only real blemish on an otherwise flawless calendar year.
2025 UEFA Super Cup
One month after the Club World Cup disappointment, PSG showcased their battling spirit by lifting another trophy, this time against UEFA Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur. Trailing 2-0 and still short of full fitness just one week after reporting back for pre‑season training, the Parisians turned the match around late on thanks to Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos, before running out 4-3 winners on penalties.
FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025
To cap off a truly historic year, Paris Saint-Germain clinched the FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025™ against Flamengo, sealing an unprecedented sextuple for the first time in the club’s existence.
In Qatar, PSG opened the scoring before the Brazilians drew level and held firm during normal time. The outcome was decided on penalties, where the Parisians triumphed 2‑1, inspired by a stellar performance by goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, who made four decisive saves. It was a dramatic victory to close a record-breaking 2025 forever etched in the history books.
Yet far from being satisfied, this PSG team already appear focused on the future. Buoyed by a ground-breaking 12 months, the combination of unbridled ambition and a relentless desire to establish themselves at the summit of world football for the long term continues to underpin the club’s mentality, as centre-back Willian Pacho perfectly summed up: “It’s been a fantastic year, and I don’t think it could’ve been any better, but we can always improve.”
