adidas Golden Ball

Yu Jong-hyang (Korea DPR)
Three Player of the Match trophies and the adidas Golden Boot trophy as top scorer of the tournament speak for themselves: Yu was instrumental during Korea DPR’s triumphant title defence. She was borderline unplayable and left her opponents no chance, harmonising perfectly with her forward partner – and Silver Ball as well as Silver Boot winner – Kim Won-sim, tying the scoring record at this tournament with eight goals.

adidas Silver Ball

Kim Won-sim (Korea DPR)
Yu’s counterpart in the Korea DPR attack was similarly dangerous. Kim’s speed made her a threat at all times and she was always looking to pounce, scoring seven goals and bagging two Player of the Match awards on the way to winning the title with Korea DPR. The 15-year-old shone from her country’s opening game to the final against the Netherlands, firmly establishing herself as a player to watch.

adidas Bronze Ball

Rosalie Renfurm (Netherlands)
Netherlands captain Renfurm directed her team from the midfield and was instrumental in their historic run to the final in their tournament debut. Her mentality was on display when she took on an assignment in central defence in her team’s last group stage match. She also converted her penalty in the shootout against USA. The Dutch’s run to the showpiece would not have been possible without her.

adidas Golden Boot

Yu Jong-hyang (Korea DPR)
8 goals and 2 assists in 628 minutes for Korea DPR
Yu started with a bang, scoring in Korea DPR’s first match after only three minutes and adding goals aplenty after that, finishing as top scorer on a record-tying eight goals. As part of a dynamic duo up front for the champions alongside Kim, she kept up the pace until the end, sending her team through to the final with a brace against Brazil and wreaking havoc in the final.

adidas Silver Boot

Kim Won-sim (Korea DPR)
7 goals and 1 assist in 579 minutes for Korea DPR
The 15-year-old caused endless trouble for opposing defences with her speed and ceaseless willingness to run, which she proved with a brace to complete the Korea DPR comeback against Cameroon. Kim also assisted her attacking partner Yu many times before starring in the showpiece against the Netherlands, where she nabbed the early lead for her seventh goal of the tournament.

adidas Bronze Boot

Giulia Galli (Italy)
5 goals and 1 assist in 445 minutes for Italy
The Italian striker impressed with two doubles during the group stage, scoring twice against Costa Rica in a successful start to the tournament before adding two more against hosts Morocco to take Italy through to the knockout stages. Galli’s early goal against Brazil then set the Azzurre up for a Group A win.

adidas Golden Glove

Valentina Murrieta (Mexico)

Mexico did not concede from the second half of their opening game against Korea DPR until the second half of their semi-final against the Netherlands – and Murrieta was a huge part of that. Her biggest moment came in the quarter-final against Italy, where she saved two penalties during the game and added a third save during the shoot-out to take her country through to the last four. In the Match for third place, she earned her second Player of the Match award, saving two spot kicks.
