Crystal Dunn has announced her retirement following an iconic career during which she helped USA win the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ and Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024.
The 33-year-old utility player, who most recently played for Paris Saint-Germain, disclosed in a social media post that she wanted to spend more time with her husband Pierre Soubrier and three-year-old son Marcel.
“I leave the game with a sense of peace and deep fulfillment for all that I’ve accomplished,” said Dunn. “I’m grateful for the incredible people I’ve had the privilege to work with, from team-mates and coaches to family and friends, and all the amazing moments we’ve shared. I’m very much looking forward to my next chapter ahead.”
An attacking player by nature, Dunn made the left-back position her own with the Stars and Stripes. She helped USA win the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Japan 2012™ before going on to register 160 international appearances and secure multiple trophies, including Olympic bronze in 2020.
In a glittering club career, Dunn also won three National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) titles – two with the North Carolina Courage (2018, 2019) and one with the Portland Thorns (2022). Her final stop was at PSG, where she moved in early 2025 in large part due to her close family ties to France.
